Beta. The GA4 connection for Signals is part of the Signals Beta.
See the Signals overview.
Connect it
1
Open Settings, then Signals
Go to Site → Settings → Signals and click Connect Google
Analytics.
2
Sign in with Google
Sign in with Google once. ABTestly requests read only access.
It can read your GA4 reports. It can never write to, change, or
delete anything in your analytics.
3
Pick the GA4 property for this site
Choose the property that measures the site you are scanning. The
connection check confirms it lines up with your site, see the
requirement below.
The one requirement
The GA4 property you pick must have a web data stream whose domain matches the site you are scanning. If the stream points at a different domain, the behavioral signal cannot line up with the pages in your scan, and the connect check tells you so instead of guessing. If the check fails, open the property in Google Analytics, confirm it has a web data stream, and confirm that stream’s domain is the same site you connected in ABTestly. What the behavioral signal adds
Once connected, scans of this site gain behavior alongside structure:- Funnel drop off, where visitors fall out of a path you walked.
- Conversion by device, whether mobile and desktop convert differently on the same page.
- Revenue by channel, where the money actually comes from.
This is not the GA4 analytics adapter
There are two GA4 connections in ABTestly and they run in opposite directions. Do not confuse them.
You can use either, both, or neither. They do not depend on each other.
Security and revoking access
- The connection is read only. ABTestly cannot alter your Google Analytics.
- You can revoke ABTestly’s access at any time from your Google Account permissions, or by disconnecting under Settings → Signals.
- Revoking the connection removes the behavioral signal from future scans. Existing ideas keep whatever they were marked at the time.
