# The 14 day free trial

> How every new account starts: fourteen days on a paid plan before any charge. A card is required, nothing is taken until day 15, and you can cancel at any point.

Every new account starts here. Pick monthly Starter, Pro or Business and
the first fourteen days are free. A card is required at signup, but
**nothing is charged until day 15**.

## What you get

The full plan you picked, not a reduced version. If you start a Pro
trial you get Pro: sequential and Bayesian engines, speed guardrails,
revenue per visitor, and everything else on that tier.

Your plan's limits apply during the trial exactly as they would after
it, so a Pro trial carries Pro's 100,000 tracked users and site count.

## Why a card is required

Nothing leaves your account during the trial. The card is on file so
that, if you decide to stay, the subscription simply continues on day 15
without a second checkout.

It also means you can cancel at any point in those fourteen days and
never be charged at all.

## Monthly plans only

Trials run on monthly Starter, Pro and Business. They are not available
on Enterprise or on annual billing.

Annual is excluded deliberately. A fourteen-day trial on an annual plan
would land a four-figure charge on day 15, which is a very different
proposition from "free today, then \$249 a month". Switch to annual after
you convert, once you already know the product works for you.

## One trial per organization

Each organization gets one trial. If you have used it, you can still
subscribe at any time; you just start paying immediately.

## What happens on day 15

Three things can happen, and all of them are visible in advance on your
billing page.

**The charge succeeds.** Your subscription continues on the plan you
picked. Nothing else changes.

**You cancelled during the trial.** You keep paid access until the trial
ends, then the account moves to the free tier. You are never charged.
Your data stays where it is; see
[Refunds and cancellation](/billing/refunds) for what cancelling does
and does not remove.

**The charge fails.** Because no payment has ever settled on the
subscription, the account moves to the free tier immediately rather than
continuing on a paid plan while the card is retried. Update your card
and the paid plan is restored automatically. This differs from an
established subscription, where a failed payment keeps your plan running
during a retry window, and the difference is deliberate: a trial that
has never paid has not yet earned that grace.

## Where the free tier fits

The free tier closed to new signups on 5 September 2026, so it is not
something you can pick. It is still the tier an account lands on when a
subscription ends, which is what the two outcomes above describe.

An account created on or after that date is not entitled to the free
tier, so while it sits there it **cannot create a new experiment**.
Nothing else changes: experiments that are already running keep running
and keep collecting, your sites keep serving, publishing works, and your
results stay where they are. Subscribe and creation is available again
straight away. Accounts created before that date keep the free tier and
its own limits, listed on the [plans page](/plans).

## Tracked users still count

A trial makes the evaluation free. It does not stop measurement.

Every visitor bucketed into an experiment during the trial counts toward
your plan's monthly tracked users, exactly as after conversion, and
every exposure and goal is recorded normally. A trial is a real account
doing real work, not a sandbox.

## Reminders before the charge

We email you before the first charge, naming the exact amount and date
and linking straight to cancellation. Your billing page shows the same
thing throughout the trial: the charge date, the amount, and the card on
file.

You should never be surprised by the day 15 charge. If you were, tell us

## Trials and the money back guarantee

Our thirty day money back guarantee covers your first paid month on
every subscription, one that started as a trial included. The two are
separate things and you get both: fourteen days on the product before
any charge, then thirty days after the first charge in which you can
ask for it back.

**Your statutory rights are unaffected.** The guarantee is something we
offer on top of them, not instead of them. Depending on where you live
you may have a legal right to withdraw from a purchase, and where a
subscription began with a free trial that right runs from the end of the
trial rather than from signup. See
